Kevin A. Carey is a Vice President of The Carey Group LLC, where he
heads their Albany operations and is an Account Executive in our joint
venture with First American Title Insurance Company.
Mr. Carey has a wide range of experience in the public and private
sector that covers Municipal Finance, Real Estate Development and State
Government. Since 1999, Mr. Carey served as Executive Director of the
Natural Heritage Trust, a Public Benefit Corporation of the State of New
York, which benefits parks, recreation, historic preservation,
environmental conservation and waterfront revitalization programs. Under
Mr. Carey’s leadership, the Natural Heritage Trust grew from
approximately $3,000,000 in assets in 1999 to over $21,000,000 in 2006.
Mr. Carey also served as Assistant Commissioner for Public/Private
Partnership at the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and
Historic Preservation, helping coordinate programs such as the 2002 U.S.
Open Golf Championship, the Empire State Games, and various fund raising
operations across New York State. Mr. Carey spearheaded the application
effort that resulted in New York State Parks being presented The
National Sporting Goods Associations 2003 Gold Medal Award for the best
State Park System in the country. In addition Mr. Carey worked with
public and private partners to establish The Emma Treadwell and Theodore
Roosevelt Nature Centers, Betty and Wilbur Davis State Park, Robert
Wehle State Park. In 2005 Mr. Carey’s work was recognized when he
received a New York State Parks distinguished service award.
Mr. Carey serves as Executive Director of H.O.C. Investments LLC, a
family-owned and operated real estate group which has invested in a
large property on the east end of Long Island. Mr. Carey oversaw the
successful application permitting and approval process of a major
subdivision, working with local, county and state offices.
In addition Mr. Carey has also worked in the Fixed Income Securities
Market, marketing, trading and evaluating municipal bond issues. Mr.
Carey worked with dealers, dealer banks, institutional and retail
traders and issuers during his tenure in the industry.
Mr. Carey has a B.S. in Economics from Lemoyne College, Syracuse, New
York and completed a certification program in Sports and Special Event
Marketing from New York University.
Mr. Carey Serves as a board member and treasurer of the Paul Robert
Carey Foundation and is involved in not for profit groups including The
Adaptive Sports Foundation, Dancing in the Woods Committee for Albany
Medical Center, The Metropolitan Golf Association Foundation and has
volunteered with other civic groups. Mr. Carey serves as a member of the
New York State Parks statewide golf advisory committee.
